for a show about a comic whos hero didnt really have super powers
batman was probably one of the most interesting and well written of all “superheros”
this, and the dark knight prove my point

I would love to see a new Batman cartoon (after The Brave and The Bold stops airing) go bact to the roots of The Animated Series again! Or posibally a animated movie of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns with the original voice cast of TAS.

Dude I so miss this show.

@darkoneforce2 well, like i said, people that work in the cesorship bussiness should be shot. I mean, seriously, just leave it to the individual parents to decide what the kids are watching…

  14. darkoneforce2 April 14, 2010 11:21 am

@bbphnix Batman: TAS and other (older) cartoons have actually been censored/edited during their post 2000 reruns.

And some other shows like Jonny Quest, Highlander, Swat Kats, Exosquad, Fish City have had no reruns (recently) as they kill characters (almost) on an episode basis.

And in Australia I’ve heard Tom and Jerry has been banned.

Batman TAS, Exosquad and Fish City started/ brought (back) a more mature/animation era in western animation.
    But those 90s are over.

This is one of the greatest things of my childhood.

  16. bbphnix April 14, 2010 12:35 pm

@Piikana I think batman beyond’s theme is similarly great.

  17. bbphnix April 14, 2010 12:50 pm

@darkoneforce2 seriously? cartoons are THAT BAD nowadays?

I think the people that work in the cesorship bussiness should be shot. I mean, seriously, just leave it to the individual parents to decide what the kids are watching….

@F14ace I think pretty much all the DCAU is pretty cool, but not only; Spiderman TAS, X-men TAS, X-men Evolution and other Marvel productions are in the same league in my opinion; and it doesnt even stop at DC and Marvel; ever heard of Diabolik?

  19. darkoneforce2 April 14, 2010 1:58 pm

@Vectic You could do that in the 90s and even kill characters, and have innuendo, but not today.

Shows like Batman: TAS, The Gargoyles, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Animaniacs and Co. could have not been made nowadays.

Heck even Disney cartoon movies had their hardcore moments.
    Not anymore.

This, Mask of the Phantasm, The Dark Knight, Tim Burton’s Batman, and Arkham Asylum: Best non-comic Batman properties EVER.

I remember when i was 3 years old. I saw this for the very first time and loved it. I would always try to watch it because i was too little at the time to know how to read time so i always waited on cartoonnetwork until it was on. This was one of the highlights of my very early childhood. I would become so happy when it was on even though a lot of parts gave me nightmares i still loved it. R.I.P. one of my best childhood memories ever.

When I was younger this show scared me at times but it was thrilling all at the same time!

  25. Piikana April 14, 2010 6:01 pm

I love this, I prefer this to be the best Batman theme.
